Ok, this is an ongoing matter and while cocoa cola and other fabulous soft drinks companies are still gigantic, water is always going to need an army of champions. It amazes me that people are still not getting enough water.
Did you know that your body weight is more than half water like nearly 80%? Your body uses water in all its cells, organs, and tissues to help regulate its temperature and maintain other bodily functions. Because your body loses water through breathing, sweating, and digestion it’s important to rehydrate by drinking fluids and eating foods that contain water. The amount of water you need depends on different things, like where you live, how fit you are whether or not you are ill.

How Much Water Do You Need?
Here in lies the debate. Our lovely NHS tells us that we need to be drinking 2 litres a day ( slightly less for women) . I personally think as you get into becoming more conscious of when your body needs water you will know the precise amount for you. it is not recommended that you just measure out 2.5 litters and drinking indiscriminately because you can have too much water.
How can you get enough water?
Firstly be aware that all the liquid you consume goes towards your daily amount. Be aware though that you will have times where you will need more water than other times. e.g during exercise, when you are ill and that while tea and coffee also count, remember the sugar?
Tips for getting enough water
- Have a water bottle- it does not have to be high tech,
- Drink water with your meals instead of soda or juice
- Drink after you have been to the loo.
- Increase your water based vegetables and fruit e.g spinach, iceberg, green peppers, cucumber, melons, oranges strawberries etc
- Infuse your water with fruit e.g lemon
